The Official New 7 Wonders of the World are National Geographic Online’s Top News Photo Gallery of 2007
Zurich/Switzerland, Dec. 17, 2007—The vivid images of the first-ever global campaign, to elect The Official New 7 Wonders of the World, brought the majestic monuments to life for many people around the world who had not visited them. Now, National Geographic Online has announced that the online photo gallery of the The Official New 7 Wonders of the World and the Ancient Wonders is their top gallery of the year.Igniting people’s imagination worldwide
Everywhere, people young and old and from every walk of life, were inspired and excited by the New7Wonders campaign. The images of The Official New 7 Wonders of the World (in the order they are shown on www.nationalgeographic.com: the statue of Christ Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, Petra, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza and the Taj Mahal) followed by the Ancient Wonders were viewed by more people than any other news photo gallery on the much-visited site.
The New7Wonders photos were more popular than galleries showing monster fish, weird deep-sea creatures, a giant crystal cave, a collection of the best science images of the year, mummified dinosaurs and miniature tigers called toygers.
